This ink image is a symbolic of the ‘Terror’ Raids carried out by police on the 15^th October 2007 in the small town of Ruatoki. Introduced Rook birds circle menacingly native Kokako, blurring the line between the so- called terrorist’s and the actions of the Police. The goal of this project was to challenge mainstream ideology around Maori self-determination, and the human right to dissent, which is only labelled terrorism under authoritarian regimes and dictatorships.
